Splitski Polamarathon, Split Half Marathon - Split (Croatia)

It is not easy to run twenty-one kilometers, but it is definitely easier if you are running in a surrounding that will inspire you. And the Mediterranean city of Split in Croatia offers more than enough reasons to enjoy a half marathon. The course of the "Splitski Polamarathon, Split Half Marathon" connects East and West, through the most attractive parts of Split, called "The most beautiful city in the world" by its inhabitants. The course takes the participanti from the start area located on the seafront, through the 1700 year old center of the city, passing by monuments of history and art. After the center, the course goes through through the modern city, on a 6-lane main road witch is only closed once a year for this occasion. The modern architecture is quickly replaced by the epic loop trough the legendary Poljud stadium, home of the FK Hajduk, constructed for the Mediterranean Games in 1979, where the IAAF 2010 Continental cup was held. After the stadium the course crosses the forest of Marjan (6 kilometers). The finish is where it all started, again at one of the most beautifull seafronts in the world.
