UNITED STATES OF AMERICA UTAH — 2023-10-06 — Syracuse. "Antelope Island Marathon". The Antelope Island Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. All the distances are on Antelope Island. Antelope Island is home to 600 bison and the largest island on the Great Salt Lake. This course is a true marathon in that it is not all downhill like many. UNITED KINGDOM ENGLAND — 2023-10-08 — Ely. "Ely Tri Club Runfest". The Ely Tri Club Runfest is a festival of running created for those who like a choice of distances ranging from 10k to 66k. Starting and finishing at the iconic 11th century cathedral, the races take in more of the beautiful historic city of Ely before heading into the Cambridgeshire countryside. Most of the course involves quiet, traffic free paths along the the banks of the rivers Great Ouse and Cam and their adjacent fens (there's only one short, gentle climb through Cherry Hill Park in the entire race). Those running the marathon and ultra get the added bonus of a trip through the Wicken Fen nature reserve, home to more than 9,000 species, including Konik ponies, cattle, birds and rare plants. This is a low key, friendly event which welcomes adult runners of all ages and abilities. With a few obstacles (steps, stiles, cattle grids etc) along the way, the routes are perhaps better tailored for adventure, fun and stamina rather than PBs. But whatever your pace or goal there'll be plenty of food/drink stations and enthusiastic marshal support throughout. Interested? The iconic finish line under the Arch at the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon will inspire you - return to the great tradition! The 26.2 mile marathon course will see some adjustments in 2023. Expect the glorious start in front of the majestic Capitol. Runners head over the Founders Bridge and into East Hartford before running into the rural and scenic town of South Windsor, where the course highlights its quintessential New England charm. Journey back to Hartford to finish just past the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch in Bushnell Park. Enjoy ample course support, cheering volunteers and a beautiful fall race. The 13.1 mile half marathon course will break from the marathon around mile 1 but with some changes through Hartford and West Hartford.
